Laura Irene
I want to give voice to the unheard as I continue to emerge in the film world as a dramatic writer and filmmaker. Believing within my brand that stories change people leads me to create films that heal through the combination of dialogue, artistic coloring, and shots. I have always loved writing, but the first time I saw behind the scenes of films, the magic occurring there, I knew I had to be a part of it. I believe that stories have the power to change people, bring discomfort to the comfortable, and bring comfort to the uncomfortable. Creating humanistic stories that will impact viewers long after the film is finished. Through writing and film, I focus on creating realistic films, studying human relationships, and writing dialogue that changes.
I am currently a student at SCAD on the Savannah campus, with a major in Film and Television and a minor in Dramatic Writer. I have since become Adobe Certified, created a personal brand identity package, and an original logo. In the future, I aim to become a screenwriter or a creative director for films that follow my brand beliefs.
When I'm not studying movies or writing, I am playing bass or violin, reading fantasy or romance, or taking care of animals. I have grown up on a small farm in Pennsylvania and worked at a local veterinary clinic for four years.
